Health Insurance--NAR's program
Published on Mar 08, 2009
For myself and family, I wanted to review our health insurance coverage and make some cost saving changes. NAR introduced the REALTOR Core Health Insurnace (RCHI) as an affordable and guaranteed-acceptance limited medical indemnity insurance program. It is important to understand the differnce between major medical and limited medical insurance. Ideally everyone would have "major medical" insurnace, but many people do not qualify due to pre-existing condistions, or cannot afford the high cost. Major Medical provides catastrophic coverage and high limits of coverage (typically $1 million or more). Because major medical has been increasinely more expensive insurance companies have increased the out-of-pocket costs making the everyday cost of healthcare reliable on the consumer. Limited Medical (RCHI) provides the guarantee of affordable insurance but limits its coverage to everyday illnesses and accidents. In addition, the maximum benefits paid in each medical situation are capped (limited). So far, I think the RCHI program is a nice addition to our health coverage. The "DrugCard America" has saved my family money. For more information, go to www.REALTORSCoreHealthInsurance.com |
